Toll Bridges in Denmark

Normally, there is no road pricing in Denmark but for two exceptions: The bridge across the Great Belt between Sealand and Funen and the bridge between Denmark and Sweden across Øresund. In both cases, a toll charge must be paid when crossing the bridges.

The Storebælt-connection connects the islands of Sealand and Funen by means of an 18-kilometre-long car bridge and train tunnel. This magnificent engineering feat, which includes the world's second-longest suspension bridge (6.6 km), has revolutionised the Danish infrastructure, reducing travelling times between the regions by one hour and indirectly creating a fixed link between the European continent and Copenhagen. The website of the Storebælt connection is storebaelt.dk from where the prices of crossing can be seen.

The Öresund-connection
is 16 km in all. It is a combination of a tunnel beneath the sea, an artificial island (Peberholm) and a suspension bridge where cars and trains run in separate tracks. The toll station is situated on the Swedish side. You can pay by means of cash (manned stations), credit/pay cards (automatic stations) and credit token (automatic passage). Read more about the bridge linking Denmark and Sweden from the website oeresundsbron.com from where the prices of crossing can be seen.
