Bicycles on the train
You can take your bicycle on most trains in Denmark, but it requires a special bicycle ticket and from May 1 till August 31, you also have to book a space for your bike if you travel on InterCity and interCityLyn trains. There is a limited space for bicycles on the trains, so it is always recommended you make a reservation in advance if possible. There is a limit of one bicycle per passenger and transportation is always at the passenger’s own risk.

Bicycles and busses
As a general rule, the long distance express coaches between the different regions accept bicycles. There is only room for a limited number though, so remember to book in advance. The bicycles are usually stored in the boot or on a bicycle rack on the back of the bus, so they might get some scratches during transportation. It is also possible to bring the bicycle on local coaches and busses, but again at the risk of getting some paint scratches.

Bicycles and planes
You can take the bicycle on most domestic flights in Denmark, but as there is limited luggage room available, you must always reserve a space in advance when you book your flight ticket. Charter airlines usually charge extra for a bicycle whereas it is normally considered part of the free luggage allowance on route flights. Make sure to turn the handlebars, remove the pedals and let the air out of the tires before handing over the bicycle at the airport.
