Southern Denmark: The Robots are coming!

September 2011

600 robotic experts from all over Europe will gather in Odense in Southern Denmark in March 2012 as Denmark's 4th largest city succeeded in attracting Europe’s largest Robotic Conference, the ”European Robotics Forum 2012”, to the city.

The bid was won ahead of other major European conference cities including Madrid and Paris.

Ms. Diana Andersen, Convention Manager for Inspiring Denmark, part of South Danish Tourism, says:

”We are delighted that Odense will host the prestigious Robotics Forum in 2012 as it highlights Southern Denmark’s huge potential in attracting in particular knowledge-based conferences and congresses to the region.”

Inspiring Denmark assisted the Centre for Robotic Technology at the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) in Odense in attracting the conference. Ms. Julie Maria Christoffersen, Event Coordinator at Centre for Robotics Technology at the Technological Institute in Odense, supplements:

”Placing the Robotics Forum in Odense strengthens our aspiration to become Europe’s equivalent to Silicon Valley. Already, we have leading knowledge within robotic technology and view this event as being essential for future prospects too. The Robotic Forum creates new and far-reaching possibilities for networking and can be used as a platform for future conferences too.”

Southern Denmark is the region where Hans Christian Andersen was born and LEGO conceived. Here a clear line runs from inspiration to innovation!
