"International Workshop on Large-Scale Integration of Wind Power into Power Systems" is the full title of this future conference held in Aarhus in late 2011.

The city of Aarhus in the Central Denmark Region will provide the setting when industry experts from Denmark and abroad meet to discuss the purpose of developing further innovative solutions for how to make efficient use of wind power. The conference will consist of a workshop and technical visits to companies such as Siemens Windpower in Brande and Energinet.dk in Fredericia.

Rasmus Jerver, Convention Manager at VisitAarhus Convention Bureau, comments:

"Naturally, we are delighted that yet another international conference has found its way to Aarhus. For one, there is the immediate benefit of added turnover in the city, but this event also has the additional value of furthering the Aarhus region's ambitions to become a leader within the field of wind power. Part of our remit is to attract meetings and conferences for the benefit of not only the business tourism industry, but also the knowledge environment and business communities in the region, and we see this conference as an excellent example of achieving precisely this. It'll be great for the city of Aarhus to be able to add this event to its CV".

The organisers behind the workshop are in complete agreement with this. To substantiate the choice of Aarhus as the host city for the Wind Power Conference in 2001, Mr. Thomas Ackermann from Energynautics refers to the status of Aarhus and the Central Denmark Region as leaders within the development of wind power. Mr Ackermann says: 

"The Central Denmark Region has one of the most innovative environments in the world in terms of wind power research and development , and if you consider the large concentration of of knowledge and people working within this field in the Aarhus region only, it is extremely pertinent for us to come here" 

The main conference will be held on 25-26th October 2011, but pre- and post-tours are arranged with opportunities to participate in various seminars, workshops and, as mentioned, technical visits to companies in Denmark, including Siemens Windpower and Energinet.dk
