In the summer of 2024, VisitDenmark and the Ministry of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs presented Denmark on the global stage at the Olympic Games in Paris. At The Denmark Pavilion, we showcased the best of Danish business and culture to the world press and Olympic visitors.
When the world is captivated by the Olympics, the games offer a golden opportunity to seize global attention and shape the conversation.
Building on the successes of London 2012 and Rio 2016, and the groundwork laid during the pandemic-disrupted preparations for Tokyo 2020, the Ministry of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs teamed up with VisitDenmark to set the stage for Denmark’s pavilion at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The goal was to create a world-class showcase of Danish excellence — a vibrant branding hub designed to engage Olympic visitors and draw in both French and international media.
The Denmark Pavilion, designed by Danish architects BRIQ and Lendager, found its cosy home in and around Frederikskirken, the Danish church tucked right behind Maison du Danemark on the iconic Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
Inside, visitors were invited to explore eight thematic zones, each celebrating everything Denmark is known for — design, food, well-being, and green transition — all woven into a seamless, interactive experience. Think exhibitions, videos, beautifully crafted design objects, and a touch of Denmark's famous hospitality. It was a place where visitors could marvel at Denmark's best while also connecting, exchanging ideas, and finding inspiration to tackle global challenges together.
The project was made possible with support from Realdania, Jorck's Fond, The Trade Council, and several leading Danish export companies.
The Denmark Pavilion was a success! Check out the details and results in the evaluation report.
